The Huntingtons: A Legacy of Giving

Archer Milton Huntington (1870–1955) and his wife, Anna Vaughn Hyatt (1876–1973), were unusual individuals with unassuming personal style and rare artistic vision. The Huntington philanthropy extended from coast to coast, founding museums and providing financial support to countless arts, literary, and historical organizations, societies, and academies. In 1923, after Archer Huntington married the prominent twentieth-century artist Anna Hyatt, they joined forces to establish a major outdoor collection of American figurative sculpture.
