With close to 12,000 sculptures, paintings, installations, and works on paper, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C., boasts one of the largest permanent collections of modern and contemporary art in the United States. Even more impressively, sculpture has traditionally figured as one of the Hirshhorn’s collecting strong points, with its sculpture collection emerging as one of the most comprehensive in the world.
