Kent Ullberg: A Soaring Presence

Fifty-eight Canada geese lift off from a pond in a sparkling spray of water. They soar over the park, circling west over space and time as grass gives way to high-rise towers. They themselves metamorphose, from traditional bronze to stainless steel, and finally come to rest in the atrium of a new, state-of-the-art bank tower in downtown Omaha. It is a dramatic visual metaphor, this flight from natural prairieland to twenty-first-century business park, which sculptor Kent Ullberg describes as “the most exciting project I’ve ever done.”. . .
