The purpose of the NSS is to promote excellence in figurative and realist sculpture throughout the United States, to which end its programs are directed. The Society's quarterly publication, Sculpture Review, is devoted to figurative sculpture and is available on newsstands, through membership, and by subscription. NSS provides educational scholarships, and is a cosponsor of the National Competition for Figurative Sculpture. NSS also sponsors the Ettl Grant and other prizes and awards which recognize and encourage sculptors and the creation of good sculpture.
