"Vissi D'Arte": Sculptor Gina Lollobrigida
By Jill Burkee

The vast green garden that surrounds her home in one of the famed seven hills of Rome is a paradise for exotic birds who accompany the life-size portrait of Gina by sculptor Giacomo Manzù as it gazes toward the front entrance. Elegantly dressed, Gina led me through her beautiful home. A bronze figure by Rodin overlooked us throughout the interview. While coffee was being served, I noticed Gina's strong and unmanicured hands, proudly reflecting a working artist.
